How to recalculate tax when the order value changes

With the override freight modification, tax is not recalculating on orders when the value changes.

Freight and tax are tied together in FDM4. This means that when the system goes in to query the order for the updated freight value, it also sends a query to update the tax. Anytime there is a freight override, by the user or the system, it prevents FDM4 from also running the query on the tax value.

Follow these steps to recalculate tax when the order value changes:

  1. Order Entry > Edit Existing Order
  2. Go to the Freight Tab > Freight Options
  3. IMPORTANT: Take note of the current value of the freight (write it down, screenshot it).
  4. Go to Carrier Options and change the carrier to Will Call
  5. Change it back to UPS Ground
  6. Edit > Freight Options > Override and key in the original freight value, then Save
  7. Go to Review & Complete and check that the tax value recalculated
  8. Finish the order
