How to create a new design using Quick Design

Using quick design is helpful when needing to create a new design for your customer within FDM4.

Follow the below steps when using Quick Design

  1. Click the Quick Design icon while in style entry.
  2. The next options are to Add Art (new art that isn't in FDM4 yet) or Add Existing Art (art exists in FDM4 and can be utilized)
    1. Clicking Add Art will allow for a new logo to be uploaded from computers files, or to be drag and dropped from the customers email into the drag and drop dotted field.
    2. Clicking Add Existing Art will allow for art to be selected from the customers catalog of already existing art/logos, previously used.
Coming Soon to FDM4 Live - Selecting the "Version" icon on the image will bring the images information to this order and allow you to still adjust locations, pricing, and art notes.
  3. After selecting the logo, you will need to make sure to fill in the appropriate information for the artist to create exactly what you want. Remember: being over detailed is better than revising something over and over again. Provide as much detail as possible.
    1. Design Name: 20XX Sport/Activity Garment (ex: 2023 Football Camp Shirts)
    2. Design Category: Sport the design belongs to
    3. Art Name: Description + Color + Method + Location (ex: Bulldog - Navy Blue - Screenprint - Full Front)
    4. Method: Decoration Method customer is wanting applied. (ex: Screen Print, Embroidery,  CAD Cut (Heat Press)
    5. Location: Location the customer wants the art applied to. (ex: Full Front, Left Chest, Full Back, etc.)
    6. Priced By: This drop down is based on the above selection. (ex: Screen Print will list out the different quantities of colors, Embroidery will list out based on stitch count, etc.)
    7. Sort Order: This can be ignored.
    8. Color Select Type: Defaults to Color Selection Required (allows for creative to select the colors on their end)
    9. Art Notes: This is where you want to be as detailed as possible. List the colors you're wanting to use, any custom PMS color codes, pre measured sizes of the logos dimensions if your customer has those, changes needing to be made. Try to be as thorough as possible, try to avoid abbreviations.
  4. Click Save Design
  5. Commit your quantities and proceed with your order like normal.
