How to indicate in the system when an order needs to be held until a specific date.
If an order cannot be shipped to a customer due to holiday schedule/closures, it is possible to mark the order as "Hold Until Planned Ship Date" in FDM4. Note: This only works for product coming from our own Game One warehouses. Drop ship orders must be communicated to the vendor at the time of ordering and it may not be possible to hold until a ship date with all vendors.
FDM4 orders produced in Carroll orders must be communicated at the time the order is placed by the Account Manager.
There are three places to indicate this setting in FDM4.
Hold Until Planned Ship Date at Order Entry
At Order Entry, select the Plan Ship Date and check the "Hold Until Planned Ship Date" box on the Order Info Screen.
Hold Until Planned Ship Date - Existing Order
***This option only works if the order has not yet been dropped to the WMS.
If you need to mark an order after it is already in the system and prior to it being dropped, edit the order and go to Freight > Edit > Freight Options > Hold Until Planned Ship Date.
Hold Until Planned Ship Date - Existing Order (post picking)
**After an order has been picked, you can follow this process
If an order has already been picked from the warehouse, an Account Manager can edit the order using the Change Ship To/Carrier tool to select the "Hold Until Planned Ship Date" button.
Do not reach out to the warehouse to manually hold an order. It must be done systematically.
