How to change the Sales Rep on an order

Depending on the order's status, the sales rep or CRR may have the ability to update the sales rep on an order.

If an order is entered under the wrong sales rep, the order must be updated for the correct sales rep to receive credit and commission. Depending on the order status, a rep or CRR may have access to the order to update it. 

Follow these steps:

  • Go to Order Entry > Edit Existing Order
  • Type in the Order Number > Search > Select the order > Edit Order
  • Go to the Main tab > Order Header Management
  • Scroll down and update the Sales Rep using the drop-down field.

Once an order has shipped, sales rep cannot be updated on the order using this method. The sales rep will let their CRR or Billing Analyst know the order needs to be updated to the correct sales rep.

CRRs if the order is a normal order see this article to update the rep here. If the order is CUSTOM or DROP, you will need to forward this to the Billing Analyst.

The Billing Analyst or AR Admin will use the Mass Salesman Update Tool to update the order to the correct sales rep. 

Once an order has shipped and invoiced, the only way to update it is at the commission management level. The Billing Analyst will work with accounting to make this update. 

BOTTOM LINE: It is vitally important to select the correct sales rep for an order at order entry. Once the order starts processing, the change of a sales rep for commission purposes becomes exponentially more difficult.
